Kindly donated by many of our sponsors and South Australian businesses, our excellent selection of live and silent auction items helped Lutheran Care raise almost $200,000 in urgently needed funds for the hundreds of families in crisis through our Emergency Relief program.
For our 2023 Gala Dinner, we are excited to bring you musical entertainment from Adelaide artist Ash Gale (known for fronting ARIA-charting act, The Sundance Kids) and his band Motel Music (right), who are sure to have the dancefloor packed.
Additionally, fresh from working together on a living art installation featuring gold-painted celebrities in Rundle Mall, we are delighted to host the internationally renowned surrealist artist Andrew Baines, who will will create a one-off artwork live on stage throughout the evening in front of your eyes!
There will be opportunities to bid on some outstanding live and silent auction items on offer, and take home a stunning bottle of SA wine with our Wine Wall.
Together with our MC, media personality Rebecca Morse, we cannot wait to host you for an amazing night and raise much-needed funds for local families doing it tough.

By supporting the 2025 Gala Dinner, you are supporting the people in your community who need it most.
Right now, households are facing the biggest increase in the cost of living in more than three decades and it is the vulnerable people in our communities who are being hardest hit. We are seeing an unprecedented increase in clients seeking crisis services such as Emergency Relief (ER), homelessness support and Domestic Violence services. We are struggling to keep up.
The Gala Dinner is our major fundraiser, raising urgently needed funds for our ER program. This program provides people in crisis with food, hygiene items, bedding, clothing, vouchers and referrals to our other services, such as Personal Counselling, Financial Counselling, parenting courses and support groups. In this way, we help the people who knock on our doors gain the skills, knowledge, confidence and connections to improve their own lives in the long term.
Our last Gala Dinner in 2023 was an outstanding night, which with the help of our generous sponsors and around 700 guests, raised more than $200,000 for Lutheran Care’s ER program.

Did you know, more than a quarter of a million (282,000) households across SA and the NT go hungry? That’s more than one third of households across SA and NT who don’t know where their next meal is coming from (Foodbank, 2023).
This combined with rising rates of housing insecurity and homelessness*, increasing incidences of family and domestic violence**, and a surge in people seeking Lutheran Care’s Emergency Relief (ER) program – including many who’ve never needed assistance before – paints an extremely concerning picture of the challenges facing our most vulnerable.
That’s why we need your help.
Your support of Lutheran Care’s 2025 Gala Dinner as a major sponsor will make a meaningful difference to the families and individuals we support. Our Gala Dinner is our sole fundraiser for this year, and will help us raise the vital funds we need to keep supporting families and individuals in crisis across SA and NT.
Our ER program receives no government funding, but is a lifeline for thousands of people doing it tough, connecting them with food, clothing, bedding and vouchers, and other longer term supports such as Financial Counselling, Personal Counselling, Domestic Violence services, and parenting programs to help them improve their own lives in the longer term.

* The NT has the highest rate of homelessness of any Australian State or Territory, with about 1 in every 18 people experiencing homelessness. In South Australia, approximately 1 in 270 people experiences homelessness (ABS, 2021).
** 1 in 6 women (aged 15 and above) have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from a current or previous partner (ABS, Personal Safety Report, 2021-22.
