To show solidarity and support families and individuals in need this winter, Lutheran Care challenges local schools, workplaces, community groups and church congregations to Wear Your Winter Woollies!
Simply select a day during winter 2024 to take part, and encourage everyone to wear their favourite woollies (e.g. scarf, beanie, jumper, socks, onesie, winter pyjamas or ‘Oodie’). To support Lutheran Care’s programs for vulnerable people, we ask participants to contribute a:
gold coin
long-life pantry or hygiene item (e.g. canned food, pasta, noodles, pasta sauce, coffee/tea, long-life milk, cereal, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hand sanitiser), OR
a clean item of warm clothing (e.g. scarf, beanie, gloves, winter coat).
Chase away the winter gloom at your workplace by getting involved in this fun workplace fundraiser! Not only will your team enjoy the chance to swap their usual attire for their fave winter woollies, they’ll also be supporting local people this winter.
Previous workplaces that have participated include NorthPoint Toyota and Lutheran Care.
Your school is warmly invited to get involved in Wear Your Winter Woollies! It’s a great way for students to learn more about community service and support families and individuals in need.
Previous participant schools include St John’s Lutheran School Eudunda and Concordia College, Adelaide.
We can even send a guest speaker to your school. For more information, please get in contact at communications@lutherancare.org.
Churches and Community Groups
If you’re looking for a fun activity for your church or community group to get behind, Wear Your Winter Woollies may be what you’ve been waiting for!
While it’s simple and inexpensive to get involved, your group’s participation will really mean the world to the people Lutheran Care supports, whose experience of hardship is heightened at this challenging time of year.
