Let’s party with a purpose at Lutheran Care’s 2025 Gala Dinner

Lutheran Care is once again calling on local businesses and the community to show up in support of Australians doing it tough, by coming along to our ‘party with a purpose’.

The biennial Lutheran Care Gala Dinner is the organisation’s key fundraising event, and this year will be held on Saturday, 24 May, 2025, at the iconic Adelaide Oval.

Tickets and tables now selling! Click here to secure your place at this exciting event.

With our Master of Ceremonies Brenton Ragless from Channel 9 in charge of proceedings, the event will feature three superb courses from award-winning chef Philip Pope; free-flowing top shelf wine, beer and Bickford’s soft drinks; brilliant live entertainment from Motel Music and other special guests; and incredible live and silent auction items, with all proceeds from the evening benefiting families who need our support.

This event comes at a crucial time, as demand for Lutheran Care’s services continues to skyrocket with the continuing pressures of the cost of living and housing crises on local households.

Did you know, more than a quarter of a million (282,000) households across South Australia and the Northern Territory go hungry?* That’s more than one third of households across SA and NT who don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

This combined with rising rates of housing insecurity and homelessness, increasing incidences of family and domestic violence and a surge in people seeking Lutheran Care’s crisis relief services, paints an extremely concerning picture of the challenges facing our most vulnerable. Over half of our Emergency Relief clients have never had to ask for help from an organisation such as ours before. This underscores the urgency and scale of the issue and why we are calling on your help.

By attending and supporting the Gala Dinner, you can be a catalyst for change; helping to provide immediate support to families and individuals in crisis, as well as linking them to ongoing supports to help them build the skills, confidence and connections to improve their own lives in the longer term.

“The last few years have been extremely difficult for not only our clients, but our organisation and the human services sector as a whole,” says Lutheran Care Chief Executive Officer, Rohan Feegrade.

“Throughout the ongoing housing and cost of living crisis, we have continued to see an influx of vulnerable people needing our help and support. Most of these people have never required support of this kind previously.

“It would not be possible to keep up with demand without the support of generous members of the public and business community. Our Gala Dinner is going to be a party with a purpose. Please join us as we gather to celebrate and raise funds that will allow us to bring dignity, compassion and much needed support to fellow South Australians who urgently need it.”

This year, in addition to the popular Wine Wall where guests can enter a raffle for the chance to win a ‘rockstar’ bottle, we will also have a Gin Wall, with premium gins on offer.

Phil Harris will again be offering his services as our auctioneer, and one of our exciting live auction items will be a painting by internationally renowned surrealist Andrew Baines, which he will complete live on the night in front of our eyes.

Tickets and tables are now available, for $265 per ticket or $2650 for a table of 10. If you’re keen to make an impact whilst having an amazing night, do not miss this event – which is always one of the most fun on Adelaide’s social (justice) calendar. Grab your tickets here!
