Lutheran Care
12 Days of Giving
As a way to encourage children to learn about the joy of giving and helping others at Christmas time, Lutheran Care is launching the 12 Days of Giving.
Rather like a ‘reverse’ Advent calendar, it is a 12-day challenge for children and their families.
We have spoken to our Emergency Relief teams who have told us which items their pantries are running desperately low on.
From November 25 to December 6, a new grocery item from this list will be revealed every day on our website and shared on social media.
We encourage families to find this item in their pantry or add it to their shopping list. Across the 12 days we will reveal canned food items, hygiene items and even a special treat.
Compile the donations under your Christmas tree and every day watch the pile grow! Then, from December 6, deliver your gifts to the Lutheran Care office at either Blair Athol (307 Prospect Road) or Tanunda (Shop 7/8, 109-111 Murray Street – enter via MacDonnell Street).
You are welcome to leave a greeting card, a note or some artwork to be shared with an Emergency Relief client to bring them some joy. All items you give will go directly to families or individuals experiencing crisis.
We’d love you to share an update and photo of your family by using the hashtag #LC12daysofGiving
Please note, while we are listing 12 different items to be collected over the 12 Days of Giving, we understand if some families may not be able to stretch their budget this far, and will accept whatever donations they are able to give.
