On 17 November 2022 our Lutheran Care Northern Territory team took part in their annual All Staff NT Day.
Aimed at giving staff time together as a team away from the office, the day also provided the opportunity to learn more about and explore the place they live and work in each day.
In addition to the Northern Territory staff, Executive Managers, Susan Richards (Community Services) and Michelle Keane (People and Culture) also travelled from South Australia to join the team for the day’s activities.
The Alice Springs based staff began the day by welcoming both Susan and Christine MacFarlan officially as the new Executive Manager and Senior Manager respectively of the Northern Territory team.
A busy day of activities followed starting with a morning guided cultural tour of the Alice Springs Desert Park where staff learnt about the incredible variety of plant species that grow in the Territory. Not to be outdone by their flora counterparts, the morning wrapped up with a free flying birds of prey show, where staff got to observe an assortment of beautiful birds native to Australia and the Northern Territory area.
Lunch was held at the picturesque Ooraminna Station Homestead with staff excitedly reflecting on a busy morning of learning and entertainment over a selection of food all whilst enjoying the spectacular views of the Simpson Desert.
Four wheel drive skills were thoroughly tested in the afternoon as the team travelled further out of Alice Springs for their final activity of the day, visiting the Napwerte-Ewaninga Rock Carvings located in the Ewaninga Conservation Reserve.
A wonderful day of learning, celebration of the Alice Springs team and the beauty of the Territory, thank you to everyone who organised and took part in the Lutheran Care All Staff NT Day.
