12 Days of Giving
The 12 Days of Giving encourages those involved to celebrate the joy of giving and helping others at Christmas time. The 12-day challenge is rather like a ‘reverse’ Advent calendar, with all gifts benefiting clients. Sign up your workplace today!
Winter Woollies
Wear Your Winter Woollies encourages staff to come to work in their favourite winter clothing items and donate a gold coin, long-life pantry or hygiene item, or some clean, warm clothing, for someone in need.
Fill Our Pantry
Encourage staff in your organisation or business to donate long-life food items or hygiene items to share with families or individuals in crisis through our Emergency Relief (ER) program.
Through ER, we support a steadily increasing number of people who need immediate assistance through food relief, clothing, bedding, vouchers, and referrals to financial counselling, personal counselling, homelessness programs, support groups and other services. Food insecurity is a growing concern among our ER clients. With the current cost of living and housing crises, we are finding many more people are coming to us for ER, not able to afford to feed themselves and their families.
Our ER program does not receive government funding and relies on monetary and material donations. Donations of foodstuffs and other items are greatly appreciated. We gratefully accept items such as:
- Tinned food
- Two-minute noodles (‘pot noodles’ preferred)
- Long-life milk
- Hygiene items (eg. soap, shampoo/conditioner, sanitary items).
Volunteering
Lutheran Care welcomes volunteers from local workplaces who would like to give back to their community.
We welcome enquiries from workplaces who would like to send a department or small group of staff to volunteer for our Op Shops or Emergency Relief program for a day or up to a week. Duties may include assisting behind the scenes at our Blair Athol Op Shop Donation Distribution Centre, restocking the food relief pantry or packing emergency food hampers.
Organisations interested in incorporating volunteering with Lutheran Care into a staff day or as a part of a corporate volunteering program are encouraged to get in contact to discuss further.

We also welcome enquiries for work experience or internship placements from high school students, and university students involved in courses such as social work. Our Learning & Development team coordinates student placements, and can be contacted via careers@lutherancare.org.au
Guest Speaking
Invite one of our Lutheran Care team to come to your workplace as a guest speaker.
We can share with your staff about the work we do in the community, or information about a specific program that aligns with your business and/or industry.

If your workplace is seeking a charity to work with, consider Lutheran Care.
We are South Australian born and bred and all donations – be they monetary, in the form of long-life pantry goods or hygiene items or good-quality clothing or blankets – support South Australians in need.
