A total of 700 Emergency Relief packs have been delivered to Lutheran Care to support people in need in the Barossa Valley and northern Adelaide.
The packs were donated by the Barossa Valley-based team of international premium wine and spirits distributor, Pernod Ricard. Their 400-strong team used their annual ‘Responsib’ALL’ all staff day on Thursday 15 June to collate the packs as a team-building exercise. The packs were filled with new products that were sourced by Pernod Ricard, including items such as shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, soap, shaving products and hand sanitiser. Many of the items were donated by the staff themselves, and the local Foodland in Angaston also assisted by sourcing significantly discounted goods. Another activity as part of the day, held at Gawler Racetrack, was hand-writing letters of support to be included in the bags, which was a special and moving touch.
Pernod Ricard partnered with Lutheran Care for the philanthropic activity, requesting that the packs be given to people facing hardship and homelessness. The packs are already being given to individuals in crisis seeking urgent assistance at our Nuriootpa and Blair Athol sites.
In addition to the 700 packs, stock for a further 100 packs was also donated to Lutheran Care’s Emergency Relief pantries.
Lutheran Care’s Head of Philanthropy, Sandy Davis, said: “A big thank you to Nadia and the team at Pernod Ricard for their generous support over a long period to Lutheran Care”.
“With the support of this wonderful organisation, we can continue to support the families and people in the local community really doing it tough,” Sandy said.
“We are blessed to be involved with Pernod Ricard who are truly committed to not only their fabulous staff but the wider community.”
