Lutheran Care is a proud event supporter of the South Australian Child Protection Awards, which will be held in Adelaide on 9 September.

The awards recognise those doing inspiring work in protecting children and young people in South Australia. Lutheran Care has submitted a number of nominations, including foster carers and volunteers with our organisation.

One particular individual who has made a remarkable contribution to Lutheran Care’s Foster Care team is a loyal volunteer named Pearl.

Pearl has been a dedicated volunteer for four consecutive years, assisting with many administrative functions of Foster Care two days a week. This includes preparation of carer training materials, carer guidebooks, mail outs and a variety of other tasks.

Rain, hail or shine, Pearl walks to her local Lutheran Care office and offers an incredible work ethic alongside her friendly and generous nature. Pearl embraces all kinds of jobs sent her way and completes them with a genuine enthusiasm. Her contribution to the Foster Care team has saved an incredible number of hours over the years.

Lutheran Care is so thankful for Pearl’s dedication and commitment to sharing her skills and gifts with us, in service of all our carers and the children and young people in their care. We wish her and all of the nominees the best of success, as all are deserving of recognition.

The 2022 South Australian Child Protection Awards will be held during National Child Protection Week on Friday, 9 September, at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
