A message from Chief Executive Officer Rohan Feegrade:
This week is National Volunteer Week (16-22 May). I want to acknowledge and thank our volunteers for all the time and service they graciously dedicate in support of our work here at Lutheran Care.
This year’s theme is Better Together!
This theme links closely with Lutheran Care’s core purpose – Changing Lives, Building Communities. Without the commitment of our dedicated volunteers, we would not be able to do the work we do within the communities we serve to support and empower vulnerable families and individuals.
Volunteers hold a very special place in our heart at Lutheran Care. In fact, volunteers sit at the very centre of who we are and where we came from – a passionate group of volunteer Lutheran women who identified need in the community, more than 50 years ago.
At Lutheran Care, volunteers like you make up a significant part of our workforce. Alongside our staff, volunteers share in the responsibility, the workload, and our successes, all deeply embedded in person centred services and supports. Our volunteers’ passion, commitment and care makes our organisation what it is and defines who we are.
Thank you to our volunteers for what you do at Lutheran Care. You help us make a difference in people’s lives and I could not be more grateful. What you do and who you are truly creates a better society for everyone.
Blessings to you and your family – and my very personal gratitude.
Rohan Feegrade
Chief Executive Officer, Lutheran Care
