At Lutheran Care, we offer support for men, with a particular focus on support for fathers. Our Men’s Support Worker assists fathers by providing courses which look at the special role dads play in the lives of their children. Our Dads Matter course is designed to give fathers the tools to raise great kids. Other parenting courses such as Circle of Security and Parenting Together are also great resources for Dads (and Mums) looking to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence with their parenting and strengthen family relationships. Our courses are run in conjunction with local primary schools, and at our Family Zone site at Ingle Farm, where we also run a Dads Playgroup, which gives fathers an opportunity to bond with their children while connecting with other dads in their local area. Volunteers from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Para Vista, provide a barbecue breakfast for this playgroup every fortnight on Saturday mornings.
