It’s time to enjoy the crazy hazy days of Summer, says our Op Shops Manager Babs Deane!
Well, this summer it’s the A line maxi dress that’s a must have.
It suits every figure and comes in soft floating fabrics continuing the on-trend gelati colours with emphasis on corals, terracotta, pale moss green, and deep blues all perfect to match the soft denim items you bought in Spring. The prints look fabulous with those soft tan leather thongs or sandals.
However if you’re a gal that likes to be seen there are bold and loud vibrant prints on offer, in cotton or linen that says everything about our bright sunshine and our Aussie Summers.
The little white dress is still happening with a little bit of Boho embroidery. Introduce those tan sandals and funky soft rope bag and you’re ready for the beach, shopping or to head out to dinner, looking elegant and sophisticated.
Nothing says, ‘I’ve got this’, more than the corporate gal, dressed in high waisted knee length tailored shorts, skinny belt and black patent leather pumps, teamed with a crisp cotton white shirt. It can take you to the ritziest restaurant for lunch or to the fanciest board room. For those very hot days, it’s a more flattering look than a suit, or just black pants and blouse – no one will ever mistake you for the waiter.
Hey, let’s not forget our men’s wear. Our men are getting braver and wearing terrific prints, lots of cream and nude pants or shorts with them and comfortable tan sandals or boat shoes. It’s so good to see them out of their sports pants and tops. It’s a very European look and screams Cannes or Monte Carlo and it’s got my vote.
But hey, it’s really up to you to decide on your looks for the summer. Hang awhile in our op shops and find something that’s unique but very you.
Feel good about it, too. You’re not only saving the planet by helping to reduce land fill. Your spend also makes some family or individual’s life a whole lot better. Now that’s worth writing about.
Enjoy the crazy hazy days of summer!
